January 18: General Meeting with Scholarship Awards

Awards were are given out to students from both the Culinary Institute, as well as the College of Charleston. It was held at the North Charleston Marriott  at 4770 Goer Drive in North Charleston.

Subject: Short Term Rentals: National, State and Local Perspectives.

The speakers included Troy Flanagan, VP, State & Local Government Affairs with the  American Hotel & Lodging Association, John Durst, President & CEO of the SC Restaurant & Lodging Association, Melissa Carter, Research & Legislative Liaison for the Municipal Association of SC, and Bob Seidler with Seidler & Associates.

April 26: Taste of SC

Networking trip to the South Carolina State House for the annual Taste of South Carolina to speak with State Legislators.

June 6: Workforce Development Panel Discussion

There was a panel discussion focusing on hospitality workforce development and its needs in the area. The event was partnered with the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association.  It was held at the Palmer Campus location of the Culinary Institute of Charleston.

August 23: Allied Alley Tradeshow

Allied member showcase, held at the North Charleston Marriott. Joint event with the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association. A welcome speech was given by US Senator Tim Scott. There was also a breakout session held for Charleston Restaurant Week.

October 3: UP Job Fair

Open to CAHA and GCRA hotels and restaurants, the UP Job Fair focused on the Upper Peninsula neighborhoods with open positions in the area. The focus was to get people working where they live to cut down on traffic and increase convenience. It was held at the Ebenezer AME on Nassau Street. 

November 2: Legislative Appreciation BBQ

Appreciation BBQ held at Founders Hall at Charles Towne Landing to show our support and appreciation for our local legislators and officials. Food was provided by Rodney Scott BBQ, entertainment by The Bluestone Ramblers, desserts by the Culinary Institute of Charleston students and King of Pops, flowers by Tiger Lily, craft brews by Holy City Brewing, liquor by High Wire Distillery and Charleston Distilling, rentals by EventWorks and PDA, bar by Squeeze and event coordinating by Sara Cavallon Celebrations.

November 30: Workforce Violence Training

Event to be held at the Town & Country Inn & Suites on Savannah Highway. Taught by Chief Mullin of the City of Charleston police department on workforce violence. 8:30am-11am.
